Our Brownies meet on Wednesday evenings 6pm until 7:30pm. We have five adult leaders, two young leaders and a guide helper to keep 24-30 Brownies entertained and empowered.
April 2016 found us taking part in Mission Spectacular, celebrating 100 years of the Senior Section. We had yet more Brownies join us and make their promises. Dads were celebrated on Father’s Day and were given cards and bookmarks. To celebrate HM Queen’s 90th birthday we had a street party indoors with plenty of food and games. As a pack we tackled our Out and About badge and all the Brownies were successful. Five of our Brownies moved up to Guides as more Rainbows joined us. September saw us celebrating Roald Dahl with a themed evening. Harvest involved leaf print pictures and lollipop stick scarecrows, with donations to the Food Bank. October involved nearly half of our pack going on a Winnie the Pooh themed pack holiday at Shirdley Hill, great adventures were had by all. One of our funniest evenings was a human board games evening, hungry hippos with Maltesers, give it a go!
We had a marvellous turn out for Remembrance Day Parade followed by more evidence of Brownie craft expertise as they attained their Designer Badge. We of course, celebrated St Andrew’s Day and made Christmas cards and crafts.
The New Year brought a relaxing start with a yoga evening, followed by Brown Owl’s interpretation of a Burn’s Night Feast – yum! We made woven hearts for Valentine’s Day and the Brownies put on a mini Eisteddfod to celebrate St David’s Day. Not to forget any Irish roots, St Patrick’s Day was celebrated in style also.
Many of us went to the special screening of Beauty and the Beast, put on for Girl Guiding. It was a lovely way to spend a rainy Saturday morning.
We are happy to report a healthy Brownie Pack which remains in demand and we are grateful for the parental support and for our young leaders and adult leaders who give of their time so generously.
8th Maghull Brownies meet in St Andrew’s Church Hall each Wednesday during term time, starting at 6:00pm and 7.30pm finish, for girls aged 7 to 10.
