St Andrew’s has a strong choral tradition going back many years. Today the choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music and continues to assist the leading of the rest of the congregation in worship each Sunday. They lead the singing at one service each Sunday, presenting an anthem at each.
At the morning services alternative settings of the communion service are used or the Common Worship Morning Prayer liturgy with a pointed psalm included. Once a month BCP choral evensong is sung to a range of settings in four part harmony. An extensive library is held at St Andrew’s and new music regularly introduced.
The choir practices in the church and the hall every Friday between 7.30pm to 9:00pm.
