The Ladies Guild are responsible for the flowers which decorate our church at Easter, Harvest and Christmas as well as any other important events in our church year.
The Altar flowers are arranged and donated by a wonderful group of people, usually in memory of a loved one. We arrange a rota system giving each person/family a week as close to the date that is special to them, any missing weeks are filled by our ladies so that the Altar—except during Lent—always has flowers on it.
We still have a coffee morning around the end of September, the money raised from this goes to pay for the church decoration at Easter, Harvest and Christmas, so we aim to be self funding. We used some of our money to help repair the Altar frontal which was quite old and well worn, but is now back in use and looking beautiful.
It is always hard to get volunteers and we are always looking for more, both on the Altar rota,-where there are a few vacant weeks at the moment,- or to help decorate the church, so if you or anyone you know would like to join us please speak to a member of the clergy or a warden who will put you in touch with the right person. We would love to hear from you.
Thanks to everyone for your continuing support and help and with your donations of flowers every week.
